Nikki Bull gives us his thoughts on our 2-0 loss to Dorking Wanderers on Saturday:
“First and foremost a special mention to the supporters who came out in numbers yesterday and really got behind us. My biggest disappointment from yesterday is that we didn’t at least give you a goal to cheer. I have no complaints about the result and am proud of the players for the work rate, attitude and commitment that they showed throughout the match.
In the key moments during the game they delivered and we didn’t; they had that extra bit of experience, quality and know how which ultimately was the difference. After we went 1-0 down we had a really good twenty minute spell where we changed the system and effectively had four up front and three at the back and really had a go unfortunately we couldn’t turn that spell of pressure into an equaliser. They will be right up there in contention for the title come May and I wish them well for the remainder of the season.
My lasting impression of yesterday is that this club has the base in which it can grow our aim as a football club is to try and get all of those Tanners supporters who turned up at Dorking yesterday to come and get behind us at home on a regular basis. I thank you all once more for the support and backing.”
